Bale Engineering has constructed and commissioned in excess of 30 watercraft, in our own workshop from marine grade aluminium. These vessels are mainly service boats, pleasure craft and passenger vessels. These vessels can be offered from "bare hull" to "turn key" completion. All craft are original designs by either our own design team or by an appointed naval architect. All Bale Engineering vessels are constructed to U.S.L standards.
Pictured above is Bale Engineering's 48 seat passenger vessel. This catamaran is 10m x 4.5m and is operated by one crew. It is powered by two 250hp outboard motors and has a maximum speed fully laden of 23 knots. A maximum draft of 520mm makes it well suited for use in shallow waters.
This catamaran has glass windows all around giving it excellent visibility and is fitted with an onboard toilet facility. This makes it an ideal vessel for site seeing cruises as well as passenger ferry services.
Bale Engineering also has a range of smaller craft such as this tri-hull (pictured below).
These watercraft have front access, which allows for pickup and set down of passengers on riverbanks and beach area as well as side loading for wharf access.
All of these vessels are constructed out of marine grade aluminium to U.S.L. standards and are powered by twin outboards.
The major part of Bale Engineering's boat building is of aquaculture vessels. Made of marine grade aluminium, they feature a centralized crane for greater access and maneuverability and can also include Bale Engineering's own "Turbo pump" for wash down and other pumping needs.
Bale Engineering has recently commisioned our 12m workboat (featured below). This boat has been designed for use on waterways in any number of ways including waste transfer and maintenance of marker buoys & lights. The crane centered in the boat allows it to be used in bollard tests and pole testing of navigational aids.
Not only does Bale Engineering construct watercraft, they also machine and repair propeller shafts up 200mm diameter x 7.5M long, together with their associated couplings. We also supply and machine all types of marine bearings including Vesconite, Thordon, Tufnol, and Orkot.
Bale Engineering's computerized scanning and measuring equipment allows us to repair and repitch propellers up to 1.8m in diameter to class "S". It also allows accurate determination of horsepower, gearbox reduction and general drive line requirements for clients. Welding repairs to propellers are also available in house using specialized wire and filler rods.
